This policy explains what information the Vaneskahian Alerts SMS notification program collects, how it is used, and who it is and is not shared with. It applies to the sign-up form at vaneskahian.com/sms and to the text messages sent under this program.

SMS program disclosures. Vaneskahian Alerts sends recurring automated infrastructure and home automation alert text messages to subscribers who have opted in. Message frequency varies and depends on how often a monitored condition changes; a typical subscriber receives between zero and ten messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to cancel at any time. Neither Vaneskahian Alerts nor the mobile carriers are liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

1Categories of information we collect

We collect only what is required to deliver the messaging service and to prove that you consented to receive it. The categories are:

Contact information. The mobile telephone number you submit on the sign-up form or from which you text an opt-in keyword.
Consent records. The date and time you enrolled, the IP address the enrollment was submitted from, and the exact wording of the consent disclosure shown to you at that moment.
Message metadata. Delivery status, timestamps, and carrier error codes returned for messages sent to your number.
Inbound keyword replies. Messages you send to the program number, such as STOP, START, or HELP.

We do not collect your name, email address, physical address, payment information, precise location, or any government identifier through this program.

2How we use this information

To send you the alerts you enrolled to receive
To honor opt-out, opt-in, and help requests
To maintain a record of consent as required by messaging regulations
To diagnose message delivery failures

We do not use this information for advertising, profiling, scoring, or automated decision-making, and we do not use it to send you marketing of any kind.

3Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or lease your information. We do not share it with affiliates, partners, data brokers, lead generators, advertising networks, or analytics providers.

Mobile information is shared only with the service providers that are necessary to deliver the messaging service, and only for that purpose. At present the sole such provider is Twilio Inc., which transmits messages on our behalf and is bound to use the information only to provide that service. We may also disclose information where required by law or valid legal process.

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won't be shared with any third parties.

Consent to receive messages from Vaneskahian Alerts applies only to Vaneskahian Alerts. It is not transferable and cannot be assigned or sold to another party.

4Retention

Consent records are retained for as long as your number is enrolled and for four years after you unsubscribe, which is the period we may need to demonstrate that consent was validly obtained. Message delivery metadata is retained for up to twelve months. Numbers that have opted out are retained on a suppression list so that we do not message them again.

5Security

Enrollment is submitted over HTTPS. Consent records are stored on access-controlled infrastructure operated by Vaneskahian, restricted to the program operator. No transmission or storage system is perfectly secure, but the data collected here is deliberately kept minimal to limit exposure.

6Your choices

Stop messages. Reply STOP to any message.
Get help. Reply HELP to any message, or email jean@vaneskahian.com.
Access or delete your data. Email jean@vaneskahian.com and we will provide or delete the records associated with your number, except where a suppression record must be retained to keep honoring an opt-out.

7Children

This program is not directed to children. We do not knowingly enroll numbers belonging to anyone under 18. If you believe a minor's number has been enrolled, email us and we will remove it.

8Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The current version is always published at this URL with the revision date shown above.
